The celebration will start on the evening of January 10th with a fun filled evening event held in the Commons at RSMAS. During this event, his many friends and colleagues will remember Bob.
On Friday, we will have a daylong scientific symposium at RSMAS with invited talks with the broad subject area “The Robert Ginsburg Legacy: Using the Present to Understand the Past’. Confirmed speakers include: Noel James, Judy Lang, Noah Planavsky, Flavio Anselmetti, Paul Enos, Ellen Prager, Joe Kirschvink, Eberhard Gischler, Gene Shinn, Erica Suosaari, and Paul Hoffman. In the evening, there will be a formal dinner at the Rusty Pelican (19:00 to 23:00). The cost for the dinner will be $125.00 including an open bar.
On the last day we will have a series of field trips to Bob’s favorite local outcrops in the Miami Oolite, The Everglades, and the Florida Keys. These will be led by colleagues and former students. The day will end with a final barbeque at the Coconut Sailing Club.
There will be a charge of $50.00 for the field trip, and $50.00 for the Barbeque. Field Trip Leaders will be in touch regarding the trips. Don't forget to book hotels. Visit the hotels link on the Bob Ginsburg website.
More details of these events will be forthcoming over the next month and we should have websites where participants can register.
